Car Insurance for Teenagers in Tempe, AZ

When a teenager is old enough to obtain his or her license, it is time to consider car insurance for that individual. Even if you want to buy a separate policy in Tempe, AZ, it is important to recognize the requirements of the state and the ways to cut back on costs for young drivers.

State Standards

The state of Arizona requires that every driver purchase liability insurance for any car that they own. If your teenager is obtaining his or her license, then you need to add him or her to your policy. Otherwise, you need to purchase a separate policy to protect your young driver in case an accident occurs.

Do not assume that the driver is automatically covered under your current plan. If your teen lives in your home, then you need to add him or her to your policy.

Getting Reasonable Rates

It is a fact that young drivers are given higher premiums as a general rule. The primary reason is the lack of experience behind the wheel and the limited information about his or her past history. A young driver may not have enough information to determine his or her level of risk, so a higher rate is applied.

There are discounts that are available to help reduce the rates, such as good student discounts or reduced rates for taking a driving course, but the options can vary between insurance providers. You can also compare a variety of plans to get the best rates for a teen driver.

Getting a license is an exciting time for any young adult, but it is also a time to prepare for the changes to an auto policy. To learn more about protecting your young driver, contact us to talk to an agent today.

The Day-to-Day Life of the Insurance Agent

THE Insurance Agent… have you ever considered about the day-to-day life of one? It is not an easy career, but the rewards fit my personality! Some days we all get on a “rant” about what drives us nuts about the work we do day-in, day-out.  I want to make sure my clients see the part of my business life that gives me pleasure…

I have been in the industry for over 30 years – at the time of this writing. It has been a long run, which has given me immense pleasure in just being human by building relationships with the people whose insurance needs I service. Sure, it requires discipline to get up early in the morning, calling clients and myriad companies – trying to find just the right product and price. This is my way of providing timely and prompt services to my clients – but it also allows me to utilize all the skills I have acquired through the years… and this makes me feel complete!

As an independent agent, I am a consultant and liaison between you and the insurance company. I think you would be surprised that roughly 80% of my time is spent on the phone. Yes – a bold personality is required – not to mention that most days I am faced with most things being new – constant changes – and a workweek that far exceeds 40 hours!

Ah, the administrative paperwork! Even in a time of the best of the best in technology, we just cannot get beyond that paperwork. All the information I collect about you has to be submitted to an underwriter for evaluation and issuance of your policy.  And then… you have a claim that I do my best to help you process to your best benefit! My philosophy is, “without me all you have is insurance.” If your life is made easier because I go the extra mile for you – I am complete.

Have you ever had the opportunity to look at your job from the perspective that you have selected it – and remain content with it – because you can:

  • Grow your own business and make a positive difference in your community by helping others achieve peace of mind.
  • Experience a lifetime of learning and professional development and enjoy recognition and rewards for your achievement.
  • Search for the best of all possible potential solutions – using a world-class suite of available products and services.

When I think about my personal and professional growth this industry has provided, I pause to consider… “Would I have become so confident, hardworking and enthusiastic in communicating with customers and carriers? Would I have become so organized and able to manage my time well – while growing increasingly sensitive to my clients’ needs? I am grateful to have this recognition!

I would love to hear your comments –whether they be surprise at what my job entails, or what you love about the career YOU have selected.
